Memory 30: Misgivings about Cheza

Memory goes here, starting at 3:22 and ending at 5:30.

What he learns?
- They were originally wary around Cheza, especially Tsume.
- Hige thinks dumb things like people have antennae on their heads. 0_o
- Cheza comes from a Noble. What's a Noble? And why is Tsume so angry about them?
- He hates it when Tsume and Kiba fight.

What this means in Aather?

Mostly, he just really wants to know why being a Noble is bad. After all, Noble has that as his name. And Regal doesn't seem bothered by it. Nobody else does either. Maybe it means something different in his world. He'll ask around.

Memory 29: Meeting Leara as a human

Memory goes here, starting at :30 and ending with the scene change.

What he learns?
- He met Leara as a human before their tense encounter in the ally. She liked him then. :(
- He told Leara his wolf form was his dog.
- She thought his wolf form was beautiful. :(

What this means in Aather?

Leara feelings. :(
goneastray: (*here we are still going strong)
Memory 28: Meeting Quent

Memory goes here, starting at 1:50 and ending when Tsume and Toboe run away.

What he learns?
- The old man tried to kill him before. D:
- Blue really did used to hunt them with Quent. He picked up on a bit of this during his eavesdropping on Hige and Blue in another memory.
- The old man could somehow see through his illusion. D: Was it because he was drinking alcohol?
- Tsume saved him! Just like with the robot.

What this means in Aather?

While he is sad about Quent trying to shoot him, he also remembers taking care of Quent in another memory so he thinks Quent isn't a bad person. He's important to Blue too. He's more focused on !!! about almost dying and how Tsume is SOCOOL. Even though getting saved is a little embarrassing...
goneastray: (** everyone's so very big)
Memory 27: Being found

This is mostly headcanon about Toboe being found abandoned in the city by Granny when he was a tiny baby puppy. It shows him really scared of everything and her winning him over with singing and with delicious smelling food. Even though he kept trying to hide a lot at first. He just remembers how soft and kind she was and how she held him close whenever he started whining and was always so gentle with him.

What this means in Aather?

Most just some subdued sad thoughts about Granny. :( And abandonment. Toboe has huge abandonment issues.
goneastray: (I feel the gravity of it all)
Memory 26: Black City

Memory goes here, starting at 4:00 and ending at 5:00, picking up again at 10:10 and ending at 11:15 and here, starting at :30 until the last scene with Toboe.

What he learns?
- This must be the city the old couple told them about. Jagara's.
- Hige's really familiar with it for some reason.
- They split up with Kiba and Tsume. And Blue's missing again too. :(
- Something about the city is making Hige act weird...
- Elevator? :o
- Hige ran away from him. :(

What this means in Aather?

Well, it shows Toboe what an elevator is. XD Other than that, just a lot of concerned feelings for Hige back home.

Skill 4: Super speed/agility

Wolf's Rain wolves have superior speed and maneuverability, far above normal wolves. Think trained fighters, only very, very fast. Of course, using too much speed over time or too much at once will hit the power cap.

Skill 5: Fighting

What it says on the tin. Toboe is actually a pretty damn good fighter and knows how to look for weaknesses.

Skill 6: Human Illusion (Basic)

I am breaking this skill down into parts because it's more interesting for me this way. This skill allows Toboe to appear human when he concentrates. It's only an illusion though so any direct contact will break it or if Toboe gets too worked up, he'll lose the illusion.

For now, Toboe will only be able to use the skill once a day and during the night (due to moon power) since he's still learning.

Memory 25: Meeting Leara

Memory goes here from 4:53 until the end of the scene

What he learns?
- When he first met Leara, she wasn't scared of him at all. She even fed him.
- He really wanted to go with her. He missed being with someone so much.
- He was cautious around humans at first. Just like when he first got to Aather.

What this means in Aather?
Not much, just sadness that Leara changed her mind about him later and loneliness feelings.
goneastray: (*and after all this time)
Memory 24: Meeting Hige and Kiba

Memory goes here from :10 until the end of the scene

What he learns?
- He was angry about something and trying to prove himself again...
- Leara was scared of him. :(
- She was even more scared when he tried to use his human illusion. Why?

What this means in Aather?
Mostly, it will make him a little unsure about what people think about his illusion. But he's pretty confident most people in Aather are nice. But it's still sad to know he scares people back home. :(
goneastray: (*your fur it is on fire)
Memory 23: Falling behind on the ice

Memory goes here from 6:43 until 10:15, skip the part without the wolves and from here until after Toboe says he's fine.

What he learns?
- Why is he so much weaker than the others? They're always babying him. :/
- He's so clumsy and fail. :(

What this means in Aather?
This memory makes Toboe very self-conscious about his failings and want to prove himself a capable wolf! It means he will be much more reluctant to accept help sometimes and want to do things for himself... and also probably rush head-first into things to prove he's not scared. |D
goneastray: (*here I am)
Memory 22: Eavesdropping on Hige and Blue

Memory goes here, staring at 2:02 and ending at the gunshot at 5:00

What he learns?
- Blue's person thinks wolves killed his family. Blue's not sure.
- Blue wishes she could stay with her person. :(
- Hige is weird and terrible at talking to girls. But Blue likes it anyway.
- Something was wrong! Where's Tsume and Kiba?

What this means in Aather?
Pretty much what Toboe got out of this was eavesdropping is bad, which Naoto explained to him. :x He is anxious about what happened after that gunshot though.
goneastray: (*we've just begun)
Memory 21: Decaying pack

Memory goes here, until 7:55

What he learns?
- He dreams of Paradise just like Kiba! Even if the others don't like his version...
- Oh, they found the ocean.
- There's a city full of wolves! Only they're all old and beaten up. :(
- They seem to know about Paradise but they think it's a lie. D: They say they've even seen it and it's terrible. D:
- The city feels so wrong...
- Kiba believes something connected to Paradise has to be here since there's so many wolves.

What this means in Aather?
This is a bit of a depressing memory since so much feels wrong about this place and the wolves there. Toboe just feels sorry for them, that they've given up the dream of Paradise. What happened to them to make them do that? It's so sad :( But he also has faith in Kiba so if Kiba believes there's something there, he will believe that too!

Oh yeah, this memory unlocks Toboe's ability to dream about Paradise himself. So he will also have his own version and no longer rely on others about it.
goneastray: (*tell me what the rain knows)
Memory 20: Presents

Memory goes here, starting at 7:50 and ending when creepy old lady shows up in front of the wolves.

What he learns?
- He wanted to get Cheza a fur coat like them since he thought she might be cold.
- Hige found her something for her feet.
- Something was following them in the town. D: The cats said it was a ghost. D:
- Cheza didn't like his present. :(
- But she loved Hige's boots and they made her super happy. So that's good...
- Oh, this is where the other flower lady came from.

What this means in Aather?
It's kind of more on Toboe's feelings of never being able to do anything good enough. He wasn't smart enough to pick a present Cheza liked. So even though he's really happy that Hige's boots made her excited, he's a little sad that she could've show the same joy over his. Why can't he ever do anything right? :(
goneastray: (*tonight we make our dreams come true)
Memory 19: Singing

Memory goes here, staring at 5:15 and ending with Toboe's dream.

What he learns?
- Cheza's singing is nice enough to fall asleep to. :)
- He dreams about being with Granny. :(

What this means?
Not much. It's just a nice memory of Cheza singing for them. He loves Cheza's voice and so much wants to hear her sing again! Hah, all these really trivial memories for the puppy...
goneastray: (*it's a new plan)
Memory 18: Going to find Cheza

I have... no idea why this was marked Sig Neg.

Memory goes here, staring at 3:07 and ending when the wolves run off.

What he learns?
- Blue is sad about not being a wolf and not being able to find paradise. :(
- Kiba tells her to stay in the town. but Hige wants her with them. Toboe wants that too!
- Kiba is all right with them dying if that's what happens. Scary!
- Kiba decides they'll find cheza before they go after the people who know about paradise. Yay!
- They all leave together.

What this means in Aather?
Some concerned feelings about whether Blue really will be able to come with them to paradise, but overall HE HAS GOOD FEELINGS ABOUT THIS. They can do it! And he's glad Hige has someone really special now. Even if he's a little jealous... It must be nice...
goneastray: (*nowhere else on earth I'd rather be)
Memory 17: Finding Blue again

Memory goes here, starting at 1:27 until the end of the wolves running scene.

What he learns?
- Hige is badly hurt and ready to give up. DDD:
- But it makes Hige feel so much better when they find Blue.
- The lady who was chasing them and another man are also there. :o But they're not trying to catch them... Did something change?
- it's great to be together again, even if things feel strange...

What this means in Aather?
Hige being so badly hurt and the rest of them seeming so tired and listless is disconcerting, but he's more excited that everyone found each other again! Just like the knew they would! So everything's going to be all right.
goneastray: (*alive with the beating of young hearts)
Basically, each wolf in Wolf's Rain has a trait they specialize in. Toboe's is hearing and thus listens to and understands all animals around him. If they want, he can also engage in conversation with them.

What does this mean in Aather? Basically, Toboe can communicate with any animal creature from pets (including incests, lantern owls, rockziles) to Pokemon to baby dragons to probably animals that are unlocked. I'll say he can't communicate with the Old Flame, but he can communicate with the Ladyfingers (not that he'll likely have the chance.)

So if you ever wanted the chance to develop a personality for your team/character's pet, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.

Also, this post is for if you DON'T want Toboe to talk to your pet.
goneastray: (*tell me what the rain knows)
Memory 16: Blizzard

Memory goes here until cave scene ends.

What he learns?
- They were all stuck in a blizzard.
- He didn't like Hige trying to make Kiba take things easy on him since he's strong too! :/
- Blue really doesn't like being coddled. :x
- Kiba is so desperate to find Cheza that he's willing to take on a blizzard. D:
- Hige is really worried about Kiba. :( He (Toboe) is worried about Cheza too.

What it means in Aather?
Not much impact, just general uneasiness about how obsessed Kiba is, to the point that even the carefree Hige is worried about him. He gets along well with Blue though!
goneastray: (*and suddenly the world is all brand new)
Memory 16: Robot attack

Memory starts at 10:50. Ignore non-Toboe parts and follow to next part. + Ignore non-Toboe parts (except for Kiba's fight with the robot) and goes to the end.

What he learns?
- Calling for Tsume. This must be when he left them before. :(
- Scary metal thing came out of nowhere and Tsume was hurt protecting him. :(
- Tsume had never seen anything like it either.
- Everywhere smelled like death. :( It was a bad place.
- FALLING IS TERRIFYING.
- Tsume's life must've been hard to have so many scars...
- Tsume doesn't like it when he licks him. :( Even though he really likes Tsume so there!
- Cool is a fun word.
- Tsume doesn't want to trust anyone.
- Tsume worries about him.
- KIBA SAVED THEM AND WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Oh wow, it would be so wonderful to be as cool as Kiba.
- KIBA IS SO COOL!!!
- He knew the others would come. :)
- Tsume is so uncomfortable about being saved. :/
- But Tsume lets him help him. :)

What this means in Aather?
It mostly just urges him to keep trying, even when people are difficult because they probably have their reasons. Oh yes, and he wants to be cool like Kiba. :(b The robot part is also interesting since while he doesn't know what the robot is, it sounds a lot like what Church described as a robot. And Church says HE'S A ROBOT. DDD:
goneastray: (*here I am)
Memory 15: Granny giving him his bracelets

Okay, first, I fucked up and didn't mark this properly and so I played it out without actually switching it and the cooking memory (which I also played out) like I was supposed to. Thus, I am swapping this one for whatever Toboe won in Columbine's game to fix things. |D

Sob so many headcanon memories. I wanted something about Toboe receiving his bracelets from Granny so I put in this. I figured it was probably some date she made up for his birthday, even though he probably didn't understand what that meant at the time. She wrapped them up in really shiny paper that he got to paw at and claw through in a hurry. It was probably a terrible mess and Granny was laughing the whole time. Then when he revealed the bracelets, she showed him that they were exactly like hers, which made him extra happy. There were many lickings and Toboe really felt like family. More cuteness~.

What he learns?
- The bracelets he always sees in his memories came from the old woman. He sort of suspected this since his memories of her do show them to be the same.
- So much love for her~.
- So much sadness that she's gone forever. :(((

What this means in Aather?

At the time, it really made him upset to not have his bracelet anymore and he desperately wanted them. But Ferris helped by offering him a used memory bracelet from Madame White's game and it was extra special for Toboe since it came from his family, Tiger's Eye. So he's all right with having that one now. He knows the knights can't give him his exact bracelets so he won't ask.
goneastray: (*alive with the beating of young hearts)
Wolves in Wolf's Rain often can heal themselves by over-nighting under the moon. They are generally more powerful during this time too and get an added BOOST during the full moon. Kiba says he can go for days without eating just by soaking up moonlight, but the other wolves aren't as hardcore. This skill mostly means Toboe will be able to heal up to medium injuries just by spending time under the moon. This also increases his NIGHT affinity, which is mostly pertinent to Nahadoth. He probably gets a bit of an adrenaline boost the longer he stays around Naha too. :)
